Implementation of Kind Find: Keeping Spectrum Kids Safe
When you have taken the time to speak with your local law enforcement, making sure they have a thorough understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorders, have viewed the recommended roll call videos and have their okay to go ahead with the program, please follow the directions below to ensure the program runs smoothly.
- Make copies of the enclosed Kind Find: Keeping Spectrum Kids Safe Registration Form. Form should be printed on 24 lb. white paper and should read front to back, on one sheet of paper.
- Complete form in as much detail as possible. Remember, the more information you provide, the easier it may be for first responders to react to a situation.
- Using double-sided tape or glue, affix a 3X5 head shot and full body photo in the labeled boxes on the front of the form. If the person normally wears glasses, hats or other articles that can easily be removed, be sure to have one picture with these articles on and one with them off. The first responders will know to be observant of both looks.
- Make a few photo copies for yourself to keep in your wallets, cars, home, etc. Both you and the first responders will have the same information.
- Hand in the form to the first responders who will have the information on file. The first responders will then laminate the original form and keep it on file for future reference.
- Be sure to update information and photographs annually.
